Alabama Poppy Project in Prattville
- What: The 5th annual Alabama Poppy Project covers a Prattville park with ceramic poppies to honor veterans who have died.

SEC Baseball Tournament in Hoover
- What: If you just want to get outside and enjoy some family time this weekend, the SEC Baseball Tournament is in Hoover again. The tournament will run through the weekend with the championship game happening Sunday.

Sun Belt Baseball Tournament in Montgomery
- What: If you’re not heading to Hoover this weekend, maybe you can go check out the smaller conference take the field in Montgomery. It’s a similar schedule with the tournament starting earlier in the week before wrapping up with a championship game Sunday.
- When: Friday—3PM; Saturday—9AM; Sunday—1PM

Saturday, May 25
Alabama Jubilee Hot Air Balloon Classic in Decatur
- What: The Alabama Jubilee Hot-Air Balloon Classic started all the way back in 1978. You can watch the competition, take a ride in a “fun fly” balloon or just enjoy the festivities from the ground.

Smith Lake Park Memorial Festival in Cullman
- What: The annual event next to the water will include live music, arts + crafts vendors and food tents. There will also be contests throughout the day and the famous golf cart parade.

Memorial Day Flag Placement at National Cemetery in Montevallo
- What: The annual graveside flag placement at the Alabama National Cemetery is slated for Saturday morning. The day will also including a ceremony, presentation + procession.

13th annual Symphony in the Summer in Birmingham
- What: This year marks the 13th annual Symphony in the Summer at Railroad Park. Featuring performances by the Alabama Symphony Orchestra, the three-day concert event will include food trucks and vendors. It’s one of many events happening in Birmingham that weekend.

Memorial Day Cookout in Mobile
- What: A family-fun event with food, music + games at Oyster City Brewery. There will also be a memorial table set up for guests to bring items to remember loved ones who served in the military. For every pint purchased, $1 will be donated to Children of Fallen Patriots.

Memorial Day Observance at the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo
- What: The Memorial Day Ceremony honors all veterans who have died and allows family members to come together at the national cemtery. MG David P, Burford, US Army will be a guest speaker during the ceremony.

Memorial Day at Veterans Memorial Park in Tuscaloosa
- What: This ceremony will include a speech from keynote speaker LTC Stephen Kaye. The program also has speakers from the Tuscaloosa VA and the University of Alabama.

Sip-n-Cycle Pedal Cruise in Montgomery
- What: Set sail down the Alabama River on Memorial Day with snacks, drinks and some pedaling. Prepare to raise a toast to fallen heroes while enjoying the fellowship of others who have lost loved ones.
