17 new million-dollar construction permits approved in Alabama, February 8th

17 New Construction Permits in Alabama
Last week, a total of 17 new construction permits (10 residential and 7 commercial) were awarded to contractors on projects in Alabama over a million dollars. To learn more about these projects, we reached out to our friends at Southern Exposure Information. Each week, they pull together information from building permits to get all the details on these projects. You can get access to all of their construction permits right here.

1. The Views at Chase Creek – 228-unit Apartment Complex in Huntsville — $29.2M
- Project Cost: $29.2M
- Project Address: 314 Old Gurley Road Northeast, Huntsville, AL 35811
- Project: Ten new multi-family apartment developments along Old Gurley Road.
- Owner of Project: Kyle Jones
- Contractor/Builder: Joe Still Building Company Inc
Big news for Huntsville. Along Old Gurley Road Northeast, local developers and investors are constructing a new apartment complex—The Views at Chase Creek. Comprised of 10 two-story buildings, The Views at Chase Creek will offer 228 one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, each featuring stainless steel appliances, stone finishes, walk-in closets and more. In addition, the 240,000 square-foot project includes a clubhouse structure and a maintenance building.
Taking the lead on the development is Huntsville contractor Joe Still Building Company, Inc. The Bama Buzz reached out to Senior Project Manager Brent Snyder for more information.
“We’ve started construction on the project and are moving dirt now. Weather permitting, we plan to be done by Summer 2022—so about an 18-month timetable. We’re aiming to start the initial occupancy early next year.”

2. Improvements to Mac Gray Park — $4M
- Project Cost: $4,079,373
- Project Address: 1050 Martin Luther King Jr Drive, Prattville, AL 36067
- Project: A new girls softball complex, the Mac Gray Park 2 Complex
- Owner of Project: Owner not listed.
- Contractor/Builder: Clements Dean Building Co.
Last year, the Prattville Parks and Recreation Department announced their new project: Mac Gray Park 2 Complex. This new girls softball complex will feature a ton of amenities for the locals, including:
- Five softball fields
- Batting cages
- Concession stands
- A playground
Once complete, the Mac Gray Park 2 Complex will be the home for the Prattville Girls Softball League. In addition, the Prattville Parks and Recreation Department plans to expand the tennis courts at the Newton Park location.
