There were just four college programs that saw three of its players selected Monday night during the 2025 WNBA Draft. That list included the national champion UConn, runner-up South Carolina, Notre Dame and… Alabama.
It’s another sign that the Crimson Tide women’s basketball program is growing under coach Kristy Curry. Alabama had one player taken in each round including:
- Sarah Ashlee Barker | Round 1, Pick 9 | Los Angeles Sparks
- Aaliyah Nye | Round 2, Pick 13 | Las Vegas Aces
- Zaay Green | Round 3, Pick 32 | Washington Mystics
It marked the first time in program history for three players to be selected in the same draft. The Tide has now had 11 players drafted into the WNBA.

The Crimson Tide has now had five players in the last three years selected in the WNBA Draft under head coach Kristy Curry, joining Jasmine Walker (2021) and Brittany Davis (2023), who were selected by the Los Angeles Sparks and Las Vegas Aces, respectfully.
Barker boosted her draft stock at the end of her college career with a program-record 45-point performance in the second round of the NCAA Tournament. She became the fifth player in UA history to surpass 1,000 points, 500 rebounds and 250 assists.
Nye leaves Tuscaloosa as arguably the best 3-point shooter in program history. She holds the Alabama record for most threes in a season (111) and most in a career (293).
Green only spent one season with the Crimson Tide, starting all 33 games during her final collegiate season. She led the team in total points scored (519), while averaging 15.7 points a game, and in assists, averaging 4.5 per contest.
