Auburn-Opelika is home to multiple restaurants that prioritize where their food is grown. We’ve rounded up 3 of the best farm-to-table restaurants you have to try on your next visit to the plains.

1. Acre

Acre is one of Auburn’s most well known farm-to-table spots. Chef David Bancroft and his team partner up with Auburn University Meat Lab as well as local ranchers to serve responsibly farm-raised meat. Head to Acre to enjoy fresh dishes from local farms and on-site gardens and orchards. One of my favorite aspects of this restaurant is how the menu can change daily depending on what is available in their on-site garden.

Zazu describes themselves as “fine dining” in a more relaxed public atmosphere. They provide as much local produce as possible through collaborations with Opelika Grows, Alabama Seafood Co. and Oakview farms Granary. Don’t miss out on Zazu’s fried sweet tea chicken and cornbread that was named one of the 100 Dishes to Eat in Alabama!

Auburn-Opelika is surrounded by so many local farms that give this special place that hometown feel! Supporting local and discovering the source of your meal is the total package.
