If you’ve been near downtown Auburn lately, you may have noticed these three new restaurants pop up. Whether you’re looking for a good drink or a sweet treat, these new additions are neat new destinations. Here’s what to expect from Auburn’s newest openings.

1. The Saloon

You can now get customizable frozen daiquiris at the Saloon in downtown Auburn.

The Saloon country-themed bar has been open for just about a month and had their grand opening event on March 16. Located in the former Tacorita building, The Saloon is catering to a new market in Auburn.

They’re bringing what you didn’t know was missing from the downtown scene: customizable daiquiris and frozen drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic). As the weather warms up, what better way to cool down than a cold made-to-order daiquiri? You can choose flavors from lavender hibiscus to blood orange with your choice of alcohol.

The Saloon has an affordable Tex-Mex inspired menu (with no food item over $10, I’m talking meal and a drink for only $15). Expect your typical burgers/wings/fries plus iconic SEC-themed dishes, like fried gator tail representing Florida.

While the community will miss Tacorita, we’re thrilled to have this unique new addition to downtown.

2. The Plains Taproom

Next time you want a drink, try the self-serve tap room in Auburn!

The Plains Taproom celebrated its grand opening on March 21, and you need to experience it ASAP. Enjoy a no-line, interactive drink experience at Auburn’s first self-serve establishment, the first of its kind in Auburn.

Choose from over 40 taps with a variety of craft beers, ciders, seltzers, wine, wine cocktails and even kombucha. Upscale pub food is on the menu to satisfy your hunger while you enjoy your drinks.

To self-serve your drinks, simply go up to the tap where the drink name, description, alcohol percent and price per ounce are displayed on a touch screen. Activate the tap with an RFID pour card and pour as much as you desire! You pay per ounce, so you can pay for exactly how much you want to drink.

To add to the experience, The Plains Taproom is on the app “Untapped” where you can stay updated on their current selection and even rate beers to keep up with your favorites.

3. Mochiatsu

Mochiatsu is now officially open!

The wait is finally over—Mochiatsu is officially open after a successful soft opening. People are already talking about their unique mochi donuts and Korean hot dogs. Stop by if you’re ever craving a sweet treat or something different to eat. Personally, I can’t wait to get my hands on a Matcha donut with a boba tea.
