Saturday, September 11 marks the 20th anniversary of 9/11. If you’re located in the mobile area, here are some ways you can honor this important date.
1. Roll’n Smoke (Car Show & BBQ Cook-off)
Hosted by the Southwest Mobile County Chamber of Commerce, Roll’n Smoke pays tribute to 9/11 with a memorial service, car show, and barbecue contest.

2. Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers 5K
The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers 5K begins at Battleship Memorial Park. Following their mantra, “While we have time, LET US DO GOOD,” everyone who attends is given the opportunity to fundraise to support military members and first responders.
You can also sign up as a volunteer.

3. 20th Anniversary Commemoration Service of 9/11
If races aren’t your thing, you can still find a way to honor those fallen 20 years ago at USS Alabama Memorial Park. Here you’ll find a 20th-anniversary commemoration service at the Fallen Hero 9/11 Memorial, with guest speaker, Major Brad Israel.
