Memorial Day is the last Monday in May, putting it on May 30th this year. This is a day to remember and honor all of those who died while serving in the U.S. armed forces. Let’s take a look at three ways to honor Memorial Day on the Gulf Coast.

1. 3rd Annual Memorial Day Jam in Fairhope

If a rock concert sounds like the perfect Memorial Day celebration, you’ll love the 3rd Annual memorial Day Jam at the Fairhope American Legion. East LA Fadeaway, a Grateful Dead cover band based in Fairhope, will be playing a great show starting at 4PM.

2. Mobile Pops — Memorial Day Concert

If symphonies are more your style, head on over to Medal of Honor Park to see the Mobile Symphonic Pops Band play a gorgeous 90 minutes of both Americana music and music aligned with their spring concert series theme, “from the movies.”

3. Memorial Day at the Sandbar

Memorial Day also serves as the unofficial start of summer, at least according to The RiverPub in Bay Minette. That’s why their memorial Day celebration features summertime fun like a pool, outdoor seating, great food, music and more.
