The New Year is quickly approaching—what do you plan to do during the first month of 2022? If you’re not quite sure, no worries! We’ve rounded up five if different January events in Mobile for you to scribble down in your planner.

1. The Fireworks of Jupiter

If you’re a fan of classical music then you definitely don’t want to miss the Mobile Symphony Orchestra’s performance of Mozart’s Jupiter Symphony and Tchaikovsky’s Rococo Variations.

2. LoDa Artwalk

LoDa Artwalk is always a great time for attendees of all ages. After all, who doesn’t enjoy live music, local artists, vendors and good food?

The January 2022 Artwalk will be in celebration of national DJ day.

3. Lighting of the Mardi Gras Tree

In Mobile its never too early to get into the Mardi Gras spirit. What better way to kick off the Mardi Gras celebrations with the lighting of the Mardi Gras Tree?

4. Kids Day

Looking for something just for the kiddos to enjoy? Look no further than the City of Mobile: Parks & Recreation Department’s Kids Day event!

Kids Day is planned specifically to highlight activities for kids to enjoy (it’s even held at a playground).

The event will feature food trucks, a DJ and a power wheel race for little ones between three and nine years old.

5. Kid Chefs Best on the Bay

After Kids Day, be sure to head to the Exploreum Science Center for the first Annual Kid Chefs Best on the Bay with your kiddos.

The event is a cooking challenge for kids that will highlight both guest chefs and kid chefs.

In addition to the cooking challenge tickets include admission to the My Body Works Interactive Gallery, a Young DJ LightShow, Door Prizes, a silent auction and endless charcuterie for adults.
