As Summer comes around the bend, we’re all starting to feel the burn of cabin fever. One of the best ways to get out and about, even if just for a little bit, is to check out a local coffee shop. Grab a friend or grab a book and visit these 5 Mobile coffee shops with an awesome vibe.

1. Carpe Diem Coffee & Tea Company

Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 6 am – 6 pm
  • Weekends: 7 am – 6 pm

If you’re in the West Mobile/Springhill area, we highly recommend Carpe Diem Coffee & Tea Co. for all your caffeination necessitation. This adorable little Victorian-style house hosts a coffee shop that’s been standing since the 90s.

Cushy, leather furniture makes the atmosphere cozy–plus, you can watch the coffee-roasting process from where you enjoy your latte! Carpe Diem also serves delicious breakfast foods all day long. This is a can’t miss spot for artistic inspiration!

2. Satori Coffee House

Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 7 am – 10 pm
  • Saturday: 10 am – 10 pm
  • Sunday: CLOSED

A little grungey and very homey, Satori Coffee House is the absolute favorite of many South Alabama students. Between the awesome art, cushy armchairs, and relaxed vibe, it’s the perfect place to hunker down and write that 20-some page paper.

If you’re lucky enough to be past your 20-some-page-paper-prime, Satori is still an awesome spot for cool conversation in a cozy atmosphere.

3. REDBAR Espresso

Hours

  • Monday – Thursday: 6:30 am -7:30 pm
  • Friday: 6:30 am – 5:00 pm
  • Saturday Nights: 7 pm – 11pm
  • Sunday: 9 am – 5 pm

Though a bit farther from downtown than the other spots, you don’t want to miss REDBAR Espresso! This upscale coffee establishment was designed to look like no coffee shop you’ve seen before. Dedicated to giving you a high-class and relatively healthy experience, REDBAR focuses on sourcing whole foods for ingredients, like exclusively grass-fed kinds of milk and meats.

There’s also a huge emphasis on socialization at REDBAR, so it’s a great place to stop if you’re new in Mobile looking for new friends. For anyone looking for a not-so-normal and elevated coffee experience, REDBAR is the place for you!

4. NOVA Espresso

Hours

  • Monday – Sunday: 7:30 am – 5:30 pm

Nova is a really great and minimalistic-decorated coffee shop. Don’t let the word “minimalism” fool you, though; it’s still gorgeous and opulent inside. Located downtown, NOVA is a great place to stop on your downtown Mobile adventures.

Between the clean, industrial-chic atmosphere, beautifully hand-crafted coffees, and home-roasted beans (which you can get delivered right to your door), NOVA Espresso should be at the top of your coffee shop bucket list.

Plus, this upcoming weekend (May 8st!) Nova is hosting a makers’ market, just in time for Mother’s Day!

5. Serda’s Coffee Company

Hours

  • Monday – Friday: 6 am – 8 pm
  • Saturday: 7 am – 8 pm
  • Sunday: 7 am – 6 pm

Located in the central business district of downtown, right by the RSA tower, Serda’s Coffee Co. is the cutest little stop-off as you travel between the water and the heart of downtown. On a weekday, you might find quite a few businessmen getting their lunch, but during the evenings and weekends, Serda’s lights up with game nights, trivia tournaments, and karaoke.

This space is so versatile and cool and even offers a selection of Serda Brewing Co. beers. Be sure to check out the events page on their Facebook before your trek out there to see what exciting events may be happening!

You seriously can’t go wrong at any of these Mobile coffee shops. They all have their own unique energy and atmosphere, so get out there and find “your” coffee shop.
