It’s finally summer in Tuscaloosa, and we’ve got a list of five of our favorite outdoor activities for you to enjoy with friends and family this summer. Read on for more details.
1. Concerts at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater
Although concerts at the amphitheater are year-round, the summer lineup this year can’t be beat! Whether you prefer country music like Chris Stapleton and Thomas Rhett, or pop rock like LANY, a concert at the Tuscaloosa Amphitheater is something to add to your summer bucket list.
2. Try out some of Tuscaloosa’s hiking trails
Now is the perfect time to explore some of the many hiking trails Tuscaloosa has to offer. Get some exercise in while enjoying the warm weather and beautiful scenery at some of our favorite trails:
- Lake Lurleen State Park

3. Paddle board at the lake
It’s no secret that summers in Tuscaloosa can get pretty hot, so we’ve got the perfect places to cool off and enjoy the water. Luckily, Tuscaloosa has many lakes and rivers to choose from, along with paddle board rentals. Here are some of our recommendations:

5. Visit Sokol Park South
There are endless options for fun at Sokol Park South. From biking, to tennis and jungle gyms, there’s something for everyone at Sokol Park. Plus, bring your furry friends along and let them enjoy the Will May Dog Park on the property.
