Pizza is an American staple that everyone loves, and if you’re living in Auburn or Opelika you’re in luck because there are some pretty amazing spots to snag a slice. 1. Little Italy Pizzeria
We have to kick it off with a classic, and if you are or have been a student at Auburn you know Little Italy is a cult classic. Open until 3AM on weekends, this is the perfect late-night snack after a night out. You might think this is just low-quality hangover food but the incredible thing about Little Italy’s is that it’s actually some of the best pizza you’ll ever have no matter what time of day you order.
The flavors and atmosphere remind me of the Mom and Pop pizza shops you’ll find tucked away in the street corners of NYC.

2. Fratelli’s Ristorante Italiano
Head to Fratelli’s Ristorante Italiano for some insanely delicious pizza combinations. They’ve got options like grilled steak with gorgonzola cheese; Lobster Florentine with spinach, lobster meat and cream; a Chicken, Prosciutto and Pesto Pizza. I definitely want to try them all.
3. Ariccia Cucina Italiana
Ariccia Cucina Italiana is one of the more fine dining options in Auburn. Located in the Auburn University Hotel, the menu holds delicious pizza options. I recommend the Salsiccia with fennel sausage, mozzarella, San Marzano sauce, roasted red peppers and fresh basil.

4. Venditori’s Italian Restaurant
At Venditoris’s you won’t have to share your pizza—their personal pizza is perfect for one, so you can pile on all of your favorite toppings. Set in a cozy, Italian atmosphere this is a great date night idea or girls’ night out.
5. Dough Pizzeria
Head to Dough in downtown Opelika for fresh, wood-fired pizza that will keep you coming back for more. If you love the meats, I recommend the Butcher—it’s topped with all kinds of tasty cuts and an egg! More into veggies? Try the farmer, complete with mushrooms, artichokes, onion, mozzarella and arugula.

6. Ma Fia’s
Ma Fia’s is only a short walk from Dough in downtown Opelika but the vibe is much different. If you’re feeling more casual I’d go dough. But if you are looking for a place with an incredible atmosphere, Ma Fia’s is the place. A popular date spot, this place brings incredible pizzas to the table along with a romantic ambiance.
7. Mellow Mushroom
Mellow Mushroom may be a chain, but that doesn’t make it any less of an Auburn staple. Walk downtown and you’ll see dozens of college kids and local residents pile into the shop to share one of their amazing pies. My favorite: The Great White. It’s a cheese-lovers dream topped with mozzarella, provolone, seasoned ricotta, roasted and feta cheese.
