NEW OPENING: A food hall is coming to Auburn in fall 2022 [Details + Renderings]
Christmas is 17 days away, and New Year’s Eve is coming right behind it. Speaking of the new year, new things are coming to Auburn in 2022, including the city’s first food hall. Keep reading to check out the renovation plans and saucy details.
Hey Day Market will be Auburn’s first food hall
The city of Auburn has several hot commodities including Chewacla State Park, Jordan-Hare Stadium and Auburn University, of course. Now, it looks like Auburn will be getting a new addition that I’m sure will become a hotspot.
Hey Day Market Food Hall, the first food hall in the city, will be opening in fall 2022. It is a 10,000-square-foot multi-vendor food hall and gathering place that will serve as a hub of food options for students and visitors.
Hey Day Market is located on Auburn University’s campus alongside the Tony & Libba Rane Culinary Science Center—across from Auburn University’s iconic Samford Hall. Not only does this provide more food options in Auburn, but it is a spot for students to get creative and moderately priced meals.
Hey Day Market is an Ithaka Hospitality Partners & Auburn University project
Ithaka Hospitality Partners partnered with Auburn University to create this easily accessible center for individuals that include:
- Local and business community members
- Students
- Visitors
- Shoppers
- Alumni
“We are thrilled to open the first food hall on the Plains in partnership with Auburn University. Hey Day Market will be a place for students and the greater community to come together, try new food and be a part of the greater hospitality story Auburn is now telling.”
Hans van der Reijden, Founder & CEO, Ithaka Hospitality Partners
The Market’s design will feature an industrial look with stained concrete floors and doors that open to a large green space for additional seating. It will have eight food stalls along with a bar and a space reserved for a student-led incubator concept.
The incubator space will allow Hospitality Management Program graduates to develop innovative food concepts and gain real-world operational experiences for competitive market entry for up to one year. Interested in joining their tenant line-up? You can apply here.
