About Light The Fountain

UNA started the tradition of Light the Fountain in 2016 when president Kitts, UNA’s president, woke up one spring morning to the fountain lights. He decided that everyone should be able to experience the fountain lights for the first time in the spring and the tradition of Light The Fountain was started.
The event allows the students and faculty to enjoy the campus together along with other members of the community. The lighting of the fountain signifies the campus coming back alive during the springtime.
2025 Light The Fountain

This year at the event, tons of people came out to welcome the fountain lights back to the campus. Although, the lighting is the main event, there was also music, food trucks, entertainment, fireworks, and activities to add to the fun of the event. The event lasted for a few hours on Tuesday evening and many people stopped by to join in on the fun!
The guest of honoree at this year’s event was Dillon Hodges, UNA alum, who recently won the 2024 Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Original Song with their piece “We’re Home”.
