According to AAA Alabama, gas prices in Alabama are 30 cents cheaper per gallon than last year’s 4th of July holiday week.Gas prices vary across Alabama

Gas prices vary greatly throughout Alabama ranging from $2.75 in Shelby County to $3.09 in Greene County.

“The state average is 30 cents a gallon ($2.79) less than it was this same time last year, when we were at $3.09, so  we are fortunate here in Alabama to have some of the lower gas prices in the country. If you’re leaving Alabama for the Fourth of July weekend, or any kind of summer travel, you need to understand that gas prices in most surrounding states are significantly higher than us. Florida, Georgia and Tennessee are higher.”

Clay Ingram, AAA Alabama
