It’s just now the last week of September but this week’s slate of games for our in-state teams feels more like late November.

Everyone knows about the upcoming Alabama-Georgia game but that’s not the only big matchup happening in our state Saturday. Auburn, UAB and Troy will also each welcome a conference opponent this weekend.

Keep reading to see the complete schedule for this week + find out more about some of the big matchups ahead of kickoff.

What to know

It’s going to be a busy Saturday so let’s throw together a quick list of things to know to save you some research time before your favorite team kicks off.

Starting with Alabama-Georgia, we have a few articles you’ll want to check out whether you’ll be in Tuscaloosa or watching from home:

Meanwhile, Alabama’s in-state rival is playing in a game between two teams with quarterback controversies. Oklahoma is set to start a freshman on the road in the SEC while Auburn could be heading back to Payton Thorne over Hank Brown. Or maybe a third quarterback before the day is done.

UAB hosts undefeated Navy for a morning kickoff at Protective Stadium. The Midshipmen have never played at UAB before.

South Alabama may have had the most impressive last two weeks out of anybody, setting a school record for points in a game then dominating Appalachian State on the road on national television. The Jaguars will take that momentum into Death Valley for a night game against LSU.

Some eyes would have been on Division II football this weekend but #17 West Alabama’s game against #3 Valdosta State was postponed due to weather. It has not yet been rescheduled.
