Counting down the days—Alabama State Games in Dothan, June 10-12

The Alabama State Games will bring athletes from all over the state to The Wiregrass region of Alabama—Dothan, Enterprise, Ozark, Daleville and Ft. Rucker. We have everything you need to know about the Olympic-style weekend!
The Games
The State Games will be Friday, June 10-Sunday, June 12 and are free to the public. The State Games annually attract athletes throughout Alabama to compete in more than 25 sports.
Opening ceremonies will be held at the National Peanut Festival Fairgrounds Friday, June 10 starting at 3 PM. Registered athletes that attend the opening ceremony will have a chance to win scholarships, cash prizes walk in the parade of athletes. Athletes—register to compete in the Games today!
The State Games showcase the traditions and ceremonies of the Olympic Games we all know, while impacting the lives of our future leaders. State Games provide a motivational goal for athletes in our state, whether participants compete for fun, or as the first step towards their dreams. There’s something for everybody!
All the sports
This year, athletes will travel to complete in over 25 different sports. Some of the sports include:
- 5K race
- Baseball
- Baton twirling
- Disc golf
- Mountain biking
- Tennis
- Swimming
- And more!
