One of the oldest HBCU football classics in the country
On November 23, the Alabama State Hornets and their rivals, the Tuskegee Golden Tigers will meet at ASU Stadium for the Turkey Day Classic. Held annually on Thanksgiving Day since 1924, the Turkey Day Classic is one of the oldest Historically Black College and University (HBCU) classics in the country and features a wide variety of activities in the weeks leading up to the event.
This year, Alabama State University has hosted several activities around the 99th Annual Turkey Day Classic, including:
- A Holiday Tree Lighting Ceremony
- An Alumni Brunch
- A Turkey Day Classic Concert
- And more!
At 9AM on Thursday, November 23, Alabama State University will kick off the festivities with the Turkey Day Classic Parade through downtown Montgomery. Then, at 2PM, the Alabama State Hornets will welcome the Tuskegee Golden Tigers at ASU Stadium for the Turkey Day Classic Game.
