The #1 school in Alabama
The #1 high school in Alabama wasn’t just impressive within the state, but it was also a top-25 school nationwide. LAMP High School in Montgomery ranked #15 in the nation and #7 in Magnet High Schools. With an overall score of 99.92/100, US News sang the praises of LAMP.

How US news ranked the best high schools in Alabama
US News has a careful methodology that they use to assess the Alabama’s many high schools. In 2023, they reviewed almost 25,000 schools and ranked about 17,680, out of which 359 Alabama schools made the list.
