An exciting new brewpub is coming to Anniston along Chief Ladiga Trail

I hope you’re thirsty because a brand new brewpub is coming to Anniston, Alabama. Meet Coldwater Mountain Brewpub, the newest addition to the beer scene in Anniston. Read on to find out more about it and the unique location it sits on.

A new pub in an old space

With plans to open in late February, Coldwater Mountain Brewpub will be located in the old historical L&N Railroad Freight building. Built in 1885, the L&N Railroad Freight building was recently renovated to host the exciting new business.

This project is the brainchild of Back Forty Brewery owner, Jason Wilson and local Earlon McWhorter. If you’re from Alabama, you’ve most likely heard of Back Forty, and you can expect all of the same type of quality brews, food and good times at this Anniston spot.

Welcome to Coldwater Mountain Brewpub, where you can look forward to craft beer, good eats and a a convenient route into the town of Anniston courtesy of Chief Ladiga Trail.

The City of Anniston granted the brewpub their liquor license yesterday, January 19, 2022, and the city council has stated they are extremely excited for this addition to the town.

Besides what is sure to be incredible drinks, food and ambiance, the location of this new business is prime real estate. Why, you ask? Well, it has everything to do with the Chief Ladiga Trail.

A prime location on Chief Ladiga Trail

If you haven’t heard about the Chief Ladiga Trail, we’re here to tell you all about it. This was a rail to trail project where old unused railways were transformed into walking and biking trails. The trail spans 33 miles from Anniston to the Alabama-Georgia state line.

This project is connecting Alabama in whole new way and Coldwater Mountain Brewpub is right along the path. It will be the perfect stop on your way into or out of Anniston to enjoy good beer and great company.

Even beyond the Chief Ladiga Trail, Wilson’s ultimate goal is to work with the Alabama Trail Network to get the Appalachian trail in Georgia involved. This would add Alabama to the list of 14 other states the trail runs through.
