Anonymous $20M gift to Tuskegee matches largest donation in school history
Tuskegee University announced it is the beneficiary of a $20 million gift from an anonymous donor. The funds match the single largest contribution in the school’s history.
The HBCU released details Monday about the gift. The funds will be used for several things around campus including:
- Development of STEM programs and applied research
- Endowed faculty leadership positions
- Endowed scholarships
- Enhancement of on-campus student affairs and campus security staffing
- Fulfill a UNCF pooled endowment fund match
“This gift will allow us to invest in our students, faculty, programs and infrastructure, enabling us to enhance our academic reputation, enrich the student experience and continue our work to reach milestones within our strategic plan.”
~ Dr. Charlotte P. Morris, Tuskegee University President
A second $20M gift
This is the second time in the last four years the University has received a donation of this size.
In 2020, philanthropist, activist and author MacKenzie Scott gave the school a $20 million donation, which was the largest gift in the university’s history at the time.
