A new videoboard project at Jordan-Hare Stadium in Auburn was announced in February but this week, more renderings and details have been released ahead of a university Board of Trustees meeting.

There is now an estimated price tag for the project: $25.7 million.

Keep reading to find out more about the project including when you will be able to see it fully functional at an Auburn football game.

New videoboard

The project will go in the north end zone of Jordan-Hare Stadium, across from the largest videoboard in all of college football that sits above the student section. The new board will not be as big but it will be plenty large enough for those on the opposite side of the stadium to see it.

The new videoboard will include 7,238 square feet of LED space. It will be:

  • 47 feet high
  • 154 feet wide
  • Supported by a concrete frame used for a future development

Auburn says the two videoboards combined will feature the most LED square footage of videoboard among all SEC schools.

“This videoboard project will not only take a big step in our efforts to provide a better aesthetic balance between Jordan-Hare Stadium’s north and south end zones and an improved sound experience, but more importantly will continue to modernize the fan experience for our fan base.”

The item is on the agenda for this week’s Board of Trustees meeting. The original plan was approved unanimously and the latest details will be up for a vote Friday morning.

If approved, Auburn will begin soliciting bids for construction of the break. It will then break ground sometime this summer.

The project is expected to be completed before the 2025 football season. It is unclear how the construction will impact football games during the 2024 season.
