Earlier this month, Auburn announced Graba would be leaving the program after 16 years which included 14 regional appearances + a Final Four appearance in 2022.
The Tigers have not made it past the regional semifinal round since 2022.
Roberts has extensive experience coaching in the postseason including taking Georgia to the national semifinals for the first time since 2019 and earning the program’s best finish (6th) since 2016.
Other notable moments as an assistant coach have included:
- Earned 2 national seeds as co-head coach at Georgia (2025-26)
- SEC Championship as assistant with Alabama (2021)
- WCGA Region 1 Assistant Coach of the Year (2020-21)
Prior to being appointed co-head coach at Georgia, Roberts spent two years as an assistant coach with the Bulldogs and four years at Alabama. He played a major role in recruiting as his teams signed top five recruiting classes four times, including Georgia’s No. 1 signing class in 2023 and the No. 2 class in November of this academic year.
“With his demonstrated excellence in recruiting and developing high-level SEC gymnasts, Ryan Roberts is the ideal person to lead Auburn’s gymnastics program. Ryan’s professional experience makes him a great fit for Auburn. We welcome Ryan, Hanne and their family to the Plains.”
