Auburn men’s basketball

Auburn has the opportunity to make the NIT semifinals for the first time in program history. The Tigers have already tied their longest run in the historic tournament, matching the 2009 team that went to the quarterfinals before losing to Baylor.

The offense has been clicking in the postseason including a 91-point performance against Seattle in the second round. That is the team’s highest-scoring game since Feb. 7.

That came on the heels of a season-high 16 made 3-pointers in the first round against South Alabama.

Through two games of the NIT, Auburn’s offense has shot:

  • 57.1 percent on 2-pointers
  • 35.7 percent on 3-pointers
  • 77.6 percent on free throws

All three of those marks are above their season averages.

Kevin Overton has been leading the way, averaging 22 points per game in the NIT including making a career-high seven 3-pointers in the first round.
