Auburn’s Jackson Koivun named SEC Male Athlete of the Year

While Jackson Koivun has already moved on to making waves in the professional ranks, he has added one more accolade to his stellar collegiate career.
This week, the former Auburn golfer was named the 2025-26 Roy F. Kramer SEC Male Athlete of the Year. The annual recognition is voted on by the league’s athletics directors.
Koivun becomes the first men’s golf recipient in the award’s 51-year history. He’s the four Auburn athlete to earn the award and first since Bo Jackson in 1986.

Jackson Koivun’s final year at Auburn
Koivun wrapped up his unparalleled Auburn career in June by helping Auburn win its second NCAA championship in three years. He won individual SEC championships in each of his three seasons on the Plains, becoming the first SEC golfer to threepeat in six decades.
Koivun won a program-record 11 tournaments for Auburn, tying for the most in SEC history and tied for the seventh most in NCAA history. Auburn’s active record holder in 16 categories, he became the first man to win all three national player of the year awards (Haskins, Hogan, Nicklaus) twice, as a freshman in 2024 and a junior in 2026.

Koivun earned his Tour membership at the end of his sophomore season through the PGA Tour U Accelerated program, which awards collegiate players with points based on outstanding accomplishments in the sport, eventually earning more than twice the 20 points required for Tour membership.
This summer, Koivun got his first PGA Tour victory in just his third professional start.
SEC Athletes of the Year
Jackson Koivun got the nod as the conference’s Male Athlete of the Year while Oklahoma gymnast Faith Torrez is the Female Athlete of the Year.
