Barnstorm Birmingham event to celebrate Juneteenth at Rickwood Field—how to get your tickets

There has been more information released about this month’s celebrity softball game at Rickwood Field including an initial list of celebrities + information on how to buy tickets.
Barnstorm Birmingham will be held June 19, the day between the minor league baseball game and the MLB at Rickwood: A Tribute to the Negro Leagues games. Tickets are currently available to Alabama residents only with a general public sale beginning Wednesday.

Barnstorm Birmingham
The event name is a nod to Negro League baseball teams that traveled across the country to play games in different stadiums, a practice known as barnstorming. The Juneteenth celebration will include:
- Uninterrupted’s Fam Jam
- Celebrity softball game
- Performance by Metro Boomin
- Performances by state’s HBCU choirs
The event’s start time has not been announced yet and it is currently unclear if it will all be televised. However, tickets are on sale to Alabama residents for just $24, an ode to Birmingham native Willie Mays. You can buy your tickets here.
Which celebrities will be playing?
The complete list of celebrities who will play in the softball game has not yet been released but some of the initial names are already big enough to draw a crowd.
Some of the highlights of the early list include several Alabama natives. So far, MLB has announced:
- Terrell Owens, NFL Hall of Famer
- Jameis Winston, NFL quarterback
- Roy Wood Jr., comedian/actor
- Ryan Howard, former MLB player
- Stephen Jackson, former NBA player
- DC Young Fly, comedian/actor
- Sam Jay, comedian/actor
It’s unclear whether former MLB star C.C. Sabathia, who was a part of the initial announcement for both the MLB game and for the celebrity game, will play a role in the game.
Other names to keep an eye on that have been rumored to show up include LeBron James, who is the co-founder of Uninterrupted, and Barry Bonds, who is the godson of Willie Mays. There is no timetable for when a complete list of participants will be announced.
