This past week, eight new building permits were issued statewide for construction projects exceeding $1 million. Most of these are from projects in the Huntsville metro.

One of the largest of these permits is for an expansion project at Blue Origin in Huntsville. Here’s more:

Blue Origin engine expansion

The Huntsville Blue Origin headquarters is undergoing an expansion to its 46-acre engine manufacturing facility. The $4.1 million expansion project will add 200,000 square feet of space to the existing 400,000-square-foot facility.

The manufacturing facility was designed with the ability to perform incremental upgrades as the system matures.

Delta Concrete & Industrial Contracting is listed as the lead contractor for this project.
