In the past, residents of Chambers County have had to drive several miles and even across the state line to get their Chick-fil-A fix. But soon, that drive will be shortened as the county is getting its first ever store from the popular fast food franchise.

The City of Valley has announced a new Chick-fil-A will be moving into town. It will be located near the intersection of Highway 29 and 33rd Street in the Shawmut Historic District.

Economic impact

The addition of Chick-fil-A to Valley will bring much more than just good fast food to the area. The Chambers County Development Authority said the project will take around a $5 million investment from the city of Valley.

“Having a community-oriented business such as Chick-fil-A is impactful in so many ways. Not only will our citizens greatly benefit from this, but also our economy. This project has been years in the making. We are thankful for all the hard-working individuals that helped make this happen and to Chick-fil-A for choosing Valley.”

~ Leonard Riley, Mayor of Valley

Once open, it will result in 80-120 part-time and full-time jobs for the community. There is currently no timetable about when construction will begin or when the restaurant is expected to open.

“This project has been in the works for well over a year, and we owe a great deal of gratitude to all parties involved to make this a reality. Specifically, we’d like to thank Chris Busby with the Development Authority and Mayor Riley for helping us get the project across the finish line.
