While it has been open to the public for a couple of weeks, city and community leaders gathered at the facility Friday, July 25 for the official grand opening. The event included:

  • Ribbon-cutting ceremony
  • Guided tours
  • Food vendors
  • Entertainment

The city also provided a free entry weekend, seeing people of all ages come to take advantage of the space. Cullman posted several photos across social media with people playing soccer, volleyball, pickleball and more.

“This is more than a building. Ot’s a statement about who we are as a community. The OmniPlex reflects Cullman’s commitment to excellence and providing opportunity for all. Just like the civic center did generations ago, this facility will shape lives and energize our city for decades to come.”

Woody Jacobs, Cullman mayor

The facility is expected to be a major economic booster for the area as well. The city hopes to bring state and regional tournaments, camps, expos and other local programs to the OmniPlex.
