Ella Langley ties record with 9 CMA Award nominations

The Year of Ella Langley continues to grow as the Hope Hull native has been nominated for nine CMA Awards, the most for any artist at this year’s awards.
Langley has become a household name for country music fans, largely due to the success of her song “Choosin’ Texas” which is having a historic run on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.
But her nominations are for more than just that one song. Keep reading to learn more about Langley’s nominations + what other Alabama artists were nominated this year.
Ella Langley looking to add to her CMA Awards tally
Langley is now up to 16 total CMA Awards nominations in her career, including four wins over the last two years. That total is expected to at least double this November.
Her 2026 CMA Award nominations include:
- Entertainer of the Year
- Single of the Year x2 (“Be Her” and “Choosin’ Texas”)
- Album of the Year (Dandelion)
- Song of the Year x2 (“Be Her” and “Choosin’ Texas”)
- Female Vocalist of the Year
- Musical Event of the Year (“I Can’t Love You Anymore”)
- Music Video of the Year (“Choosin’ Texas”)
Langley’s total fell just short of the all-time record which belongs to Alan Jackson, who was nominated for 10 awards in 2002. Nine nominations is tied for the most by a female artist in a single year (Lainey Wilson + Miranda Lambert).
Alabama artists at the CMA Awards
Langley wasn’t the only nominee with connections to our state.
The Red Clay Strays were once again nominated for Vocal Group of the Year. They won the award last year and have now been nominated three consecutive years.
Muscadine Bloodline, the Alabama-born group of Charlie Muncaster and Gary Stanton, received its first CMA Award nomination for Vocal Duo of the Year. They are currently on tour with Langley.
Jacksonville native Riley Green received another nomination this year, getting recognition for his work with Carly Pearce on “If I Don’t Leave I’m Gonna Stay.” The song was nominated for Music Event of the Year.
