ESPN College GameDay now moved indoors ahead of Hurricane Isaias

The University of Alabama campus will still host ESPN’s College GameDay Saturday, but the broadcast has been moved indoors to Coleman Coliseum due to threats of severe weather from Hurricane Isaias. Alabama hosts Georgia in a clash of top 10 teams, with the game kicking off at 6:30PM.

According to the National Hurricane Center, Isaias is forecast to make landfall late Friday or early Saturday as a Category 1 storm with damaging hurricane-force winds. Tuscaloosa is expected to see significant rainfall and high winds.

The weekly preview show that airs from the site of a major college football game will be on ESPN from 8-11AM on Saturday, Oct. 10, 2026. University of Alabama graduate Rece Davis hosts a panel that includes Desmond Howard, Pat McAfee, Kirk Herbstreit and of course, Nick Saban.

Former Crimson Tide Heisman Trophy winner and Carolina Panthers quarterback Bryce Young will be the “guest picker” for the panel.

All of the pageantry and shenanigans usually associated with the GameDay broadcast will remain intact, but this weekend, it will all happen indoors, including Pat McAfee’s “Kicking is Easy” Contest (raffle tickets will be distributed at both coliseum entrances).

ESPN officials said fans can start lining up at the north and east doors at 5:15AM, and doors will open at 5:30AM.

Saturday will be the 21st time the University of Alabama has hosted College GameDay, the second most of any school in the country (Ohio State – 26).

In the previous 20 visits, Alabama has an 11-9 record including winning the last three games. The show was in town for Alabama’s 30-16 win over Vanderbilt during the 2025 season.
