The City of Florence officially unveiled its Field of Dreams venue as a part of the grand opening for the new Sportsplex Pod.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony was held July 25, just before a day full of events at the complex.

Field of Dreams

After the ribbon was cut at home plate, athletes took to the field for the first official game at the new stadium.

The Bambino Buddy Ball league held its first game in Florence. Athletes of all ages took the field for a day full of baseball, softball + plenty of fun.

The field is a fully turf surface that is accessible and safe for kids and adults with special needs.

$7.2M Sportsplex Pod

The city’s investment into local sports did not stop with the Field of Dreams venue. The Sportsplex Pod is a $7.2 million project and includes five fully-turf fields for baseball and softball.

The project broke ground in November 2023 and finished right on schedule.
