Florence welcomes new independent bookstore to historic downtown

The state’s newest independent bookstore has opened in Florence, selling new and used books in historic downtown. Here’s what you need to know!

- Hours: Open 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. MTRFS and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday; closed Wednesdays

What To Expect
You will be able to find a wide variety of books inside the store, both new and used (or pre-loved as the store likes to call them). The store will also take your pre-loved books in exchange for store credit! To get that credit, Court Street provides specific instructions:
- Bring books in good condition, up to 40 at a time
- Allow time for the store to sort through the books and decide which books to keep
- Receive store credit that can be used for discounted offers
What to do
Court Street is also expected to soon add a coffee shop. The store also has a meeting room that can be reserved for public use. It already has a long list of events through the end of April including:
- Children’s storytime every Saturday
- Easter themed Children’s storytime and crafts
- Craft class for book cover earrings
- Earth Day plant swap
- Indie Bookstore Day
