Gadsen’s acclaimed BBQ competition that you all know and love will join six other grilling competitions on screens across the US. Food Network will be bringing Chef Michael Symon, a celebrity chef, to try some of Alabama’s best BBQ. You’ve probably seen Symon as a host on various Food Network shows, alongside appearances on networks like ABC.

“It’s an honor to be selected by the Food Network. This is a huge deal for us because I’ve dreamed of being featured on a show like this.”

Janet Tarrance, Event Supervisor for the City of Gasden

According to the City of Gadsen, Food Network will bring a crew to interview some of the Smoke on the Falls competitors. Excitingly, they’ll be trying their food and assisting with the awards presentation.

Well done, Gadsden. (City of Gadsden)

Smoke on the Falls is presented by the City of Gadsden Parks and Recreation Department and is a Kansas City Barbecue Society (KCBS) BBQ contest.

We ❤️ this competition since it brings people from all over. For example, over 125 KCBS certified judges travel to Gadsden just for Smoke on the Falls. Last year, teams from 18 different states competed. According to the City of Gadsden, previous competitions have even featured international teams—WOW.

Don’t miss this year’s competition!
