Reading time: 3 minutes
Suni Lee won three Olympic medals before she arrived at Auburn University but since officially being welcomed into Tiger Nation, the gymnast has doubled that medal count.
During the 2024 games in Paris, Lee helped Team USA earn gold in the team final while adding a pair of bronze medals for her individual efforts in the all-around final and the uneven bars.
At just 21 years old, Lee’s list of accolades is still growing—the latest being a nod from Glamour Magazine.
Keep reading to find out why they selected Lee as one of 2024’s Women of the Year + see what could come next for Lee and her gymnastics career.
Glamour’s Women of the Year
Suni Lee was chosen as one of 12 women to earn the nod from the prestigious women’s magazine that was founded in 1939. She is joined by several other big names including:
- Serena Williams
- Pamela Anderson
- Sydney Sweeney
- Allyson Felix
Lee sat down for a full interview with Glamour, talking about everything from her mental health, her relationship with her teammates and of course, her experience in Paris.
“I’m at such a better place in my life, not even just physically but mentally, to where I can accept everything that’s happened. Not many people get to come here twice and compete with the best of the best. I just felt absolutely amazing. And now I’ve learned to really take everything in, and I think that’s why I’m so happy with all of my medals.”

But Lee also wants the world to know her beyond the gym. A big move to New York is setting herself up to experience more in the world of fashion and social media.
2028 Olympics
Suni Lee has been very open about her mental and physical health struggles over the past few years. Two trips to the Olympics will certainly take a toll on anyone’s mind and body but a third appearance at the Games is still a possibility.
In the article, Lee said she was not thinking too much about 2028 yet.
“I don’t need any more adversity. I don’t want people to feel bad for me. I just want to go into the gym and work hard.”
