frios gourmet pops started in a small garage in Gadsen, Alabama back in 2015. The local company was bought by Cliff Kennedy in 2018 and grew into what is now a magical enterprise of frozen pops, which is now based in Mobile. You can find frios in their sweet tie-dye van across the US.

Fun fact: I lived in Gadsden at the time and the then-owner would bring the gourmet pops to my high school’s band practice which quickly became everybody’s favorite part of the day—they’re THAT tasty.

FGP Manufacturing produces private labels and co-packed frozen novelties for national brands and retailers. Basically, if you have a company that makes frozen treats, they tackle your manufacturing needs. They know all the ins and outs of the frozen novelty industry.

BONUS: frios loves the community—they gave out free popsicles at the Noccalula Falls Animal Habitat reopening back in September 2021.

Mobile County Commission promotes business growth and supports the frios and FGP Manufacturing expansion, which will include a capital investment of over $20 million and is expected to bring 200 full-time jobs over the next three years.

Currently, FGP Manufacturing will be moving into, local distributor, Crown Products’ former facility. This means their production space is growing from 30K to 130K square footage.

“Mobile is the perfect place to grow our dream of being a dynamic player in the frozen novelty industry. Through the economic support and strategic location of our city, I feel lucky to be able to make this dream a reality in my hometown. I am excited for the future and the possibilities that lie ahead.”

  • $20 million in capital investment
  • 200 new jobs over three years
  • Production square footage from 30,000 to 130,000
  • even more fun and fresh flavors

As of right now, frios has over 50 locations across the country. By the end of 2022, they’re expecting to have over 100. We’re excited to see them get there through this new expansion.
