Between the Paris Olympics and the release of “Bridgerton” season three, it’s looking like we all want a taste of Europe this summer—even if we can’t leave the Yellowhammer State.

Keeping that theme, we rounded up seven Italian restaurants across Alabama with a continental flair.

T Marie’s Ristorante Italiano | Mobile

I have five words for you: build-your-own-pasta-bowl. That’s what T Marie’s offers.

They make their own pasta and sauces in-house. What combination of noodles + sauce ends up on your plate is entirely up to you.

Ricatoni’s Italian Grill | Florence

Wood-fired pizzas, freshly-made pasta + delicious lunch specials await you at Ricatoni’s in the Shoals. The only issue is trying to pick just one thing off the menu!

Trattoria Pizza + Italian | Spanish Fort

So I know this article is all about authentic Italian food, but I would be remiss if I didn’t mention the pizza at Trattoria’s in Spanish Fort. The pasta is amazing, too—but the pizza is something else. You’ve got to try it for yourself.

Depalma’s Italian Cafe | Tuscaloosa

Is a date night in T-Town on your radar? Take your honey over to Depalma’s for fine wines, hearty pasta dishes + decadent desserts.

Or just take yourself for a little treat.

SaZa Serious Italian | Montgomery + Madison

SaZa takes their Italian food very seriously—it’s even in the name. Fresh, important ingredients dominate their menu, which features modern-day twists on old-fashioned classics, resulting in a menu that Chef Joe dubbed “extreme peasant food.”

Ristorante Carmelo | Orange Beach

We typically think of seafood on a beach vacation—but Ristorante Carmelo in Orange Beach is worth breaking your old habits for. They emphasized ambiance when crafting the space, curating an authentic wine room with imported Italian wines to pair with scrumptious specialty dishes.

Luca Lagotto | Birmingham

Rounding out our list is an entry from the subjective food capital of Alabama—Birmingham. Luca Lagotto is a restaurant and market, where you can chow down on a delicious Italian meal or buy the stuff to make one for yourself.
