Growth in Millbrook continues with latest multipurpose development
Reading time: 2 minutes
People in Millbrook have surely already heard the news about the newest plans for the 17 Springs development off Highway 14 but pretty soon, the buzz around the latest attraction will be bringing people to town from all over the state.
The city officially broke ground earlier this month on The Marketplace at 17 Springs which is the latest phase of development at the 18-acre site. The new plans tentatively include:
- 2 hotel spaces
- 8 restaurant spaces
- 8 other commercial spaces
- 1 building for medical offices
“The development goals for the Marketplace consist of maximizing its commercial development potential while contributing to the vibrancy and vitality of the Alabama Highway 14 corridor in order to attract locals, visitors, and tourists to the area. The Marketplace at 17 Springs will offer a unique mix of activities that serves as a destination and experience for dining, shopping, lodging, and recreation opportunities.”

What else is at 17 Springs?
Discussion for the new development began back in 2017 with multiple phases planned out soon after. The Fields at Spring 17 have opened to public use and include:
- 12 tennis courts
- 12 pickleball courts
- 4 turf multi-purpose fields lined with soccer and football markings
The venue is already being used by several local teams including Prattville, Stanhope Elmore, Marbury, Prattville Christian, LAMP and Ezekiel Academy high schools along with hosting Alabama FC travel soccer matches.
Phase 2 of the Fields at Spring 17 will include baseball fields, softball fields, a stadium and an event center. That construction is also already underway.
