Why Gulf Shores?
According to Redfin, buyer demand for second homes was up 87% at the start of 2022 from pre-pandemic levels, and sales are expected to remain steady. What better place to buy a second home than on the beach?
Every year, Vacasa publishes a report on where purchasing a second home has the sunniest outlook. Destinations are ranked by yearly rate of return on investment using Vacasa’s proprietary and market data.
So, what makes Gulf Shores number one? To quote Vacasa, “boasting over 32 miles of sandy white beaches, Gulf Shores is a mecca of pure paradise on the Alabama coastline.” Purchasing a vacation home or condo will cost around $400,000, but the capitalization rate, or yearly rate of return on investment, is over 10%.
