Hallmark movie filmed in Mobile premieres this month

Back in February, we reported there was a new movie filming in Alabama called Spring Breakthrough. This month, it will be premiering Sunday, April 30 at 7/6c on the Hallmark Movies & Mysteries channel.
Filming in Mobile
According to the Alabama Film Office and Goleman Casting, LLC., filming took place around several locations in Mobile including Spring Hill College in February.
The movie will follow a single mother surprised by her daughter’s recent engagement, who travels to the Gulf Shores where she finds love unexpectedly. It will star Keesha Sharp, Demetrius Grosse, Rhyon Nicole Brown and Akono Dixon.
According to AL.com, the movie’s director is Mykelti Williamson, the actor who played Bubba alongside Tom Hanks in “Forrest Gump.”
2nd Hallmark Film produced in Alabama
Spring Breakthrough is the 2nd Hallmark movie to be filmed in Alabama since December 2022. The first film, A Nashville Legacy, was filmed in Birmingham right before Christmas and premiered February 26.
The movie included many local Birmingham establishments like Ted’s Restaurant, Tin Roof, Miles College and Workplay.
