This past week, 15 new building permits were issued across Alabama for construction projects exceeding $1 million. These permits include projects in Florence, Huntsville, Birmingham, Tuscaloosa and Anniston, among other Alabama cities.

One of the largest of these permits is for a new building on the campus of Heritage Christian University in Florence. Here’s more:

Heritage Christian University issued $4.8 million permit

Heritage Christian University in Florence was issued a $4.8 million building permit for a new resource center on its campus. This new 25,000-square-foot building will serve as a hub for learning, worship and administrative support.

The Student Resource Center will house:

HCU’s library
The university’s rarities collections
The HCU chapel
Student media center

Summit Structures is listed as the lead contractor on this project. Ground was broken in March.
