The commitment is officially between AmFirst, the Jacksonville State Foundation and the university. The complete partnership is expected to provide benefits around the campus beyond home football games.

“This collaboration not only signifies a new chapter in the history of our football program but also underscores our commitment to providing exceptional opportunities for our students, athletes, and the entire Jacksonville community. We are excited about the future and the possibilities this partnership will bring to our campus.”

~ Dr. Don C. Killingsworth, Jr., President of JSU

The name change is not the only new aspect fans will notice during the 2024 football season.

The Loring and Debbie White Football Performance Center as the Gamecocks’ new state-of-the-art operaions building behind the west endzone. Nine suites, featuring outdoor seating, were built into the facility to increase fan experience. During the major stadium renovation the original press box on the north side was torn down and replaced with premium outdoor suites and tabletop seating options along the length of the field.

There is also new turf being installed on the playing surface and a new design will be used.

The field will include:

  • AstroTurf’s RootZone 3D Series
  • Vintage JSU midfield logo
  • AmFirst logo on sidelines

The project is expected to be completed in early August and fans will get their first look when the Gamecocks open the 2024 season against Coastal Carolina on August 29.

The current site of the stadium was first used by Jacksonville State in 1947, originally called the College Bowl.

It was renamed after longtime supporter Paul Snow in 1961. Coach Bill Burgess, who won a championship with the Gamecocks in 1992, was added to the name of the field in 2010.

For more than a decade, it was officially known as Snow-Burgess Field at JSU Stadium prior to AmFirst getting the naming rights to the stadium. JSU has won 73.1% of its home games since the stadium opening, recording more than 300 wins.

The first official season playing at AmFirst Stadium will coincide with Jacksonville State’s first full-member season with Conference USA and the NCAA’s FBS division.

The Gamecocks will play six home games at AmFirst Stadium in 2024, four of which have already been selected to
air on national television.
