The Rose Bowl, happening on New Year’s Day 2024, is accompanied by the iconic Rose Parade. In what could be a historic performance, the Million Dollar Band will be marching down Colorado Boulevard in Pasadena. Keep reading for all the details.
The Million Dollar Band’s appearance in the Rose Parade
Performances from The University of Alabama’s Million Dollar Band is always one of the highlights of gamedays in Tuscaloosa—and it’ll also be a highlight of the highly-anticipated 2024 Rose Bowl.
Stretching across 5.5 miles, the Rose Parade precedes the big game between Alabama and Michigan. Here’s what the Rose Parade has to say about the Million Dollar Band:
“Founded in 1912, the Million Dollar Band is the largest student organization and is the official band for The University of Alabama. All roads have led the Million Dollar Band to this moment.”
According to Tuscaloosa News, the Million Dollar Band’s director, Ken Ozello, said this year may be the first time that The University of Alabama’s band has marched in the Rose Parade.
Albertville High School will also march in the parade
The Million Dollar Band won’t be the only Alabama band marching in the Rose Parade, though. The Albertville High School Aggie Band will be making their third appearance in the parade on January 1, 2024. Composed of approximately 25% of the student body, this nearly 350-member band has been recognized as a top-notch high school band, winning awards and receiving special invitations like this one.
