Mum’s the word, literally—7 AL spots with “mom” in the name for Mother’s Day

My mom asks for the same thing every Mother’s Day—a whole day spent with her. While that’s a very sweet thing to say, it always leaves me without an idea of what to get her, or where to take her. So, we found seven spots across Alabama with “mom” (or any variation!) in the name for you to treat mom on her day.

Mobile: Mamas on Dauphin + Taco Mama

In Mobile, you have two choices, Mama’s on Dauphin and Taco Mama.

One important thing to note, Mama’s on Dauphin is open for weekday lunch only. But we’d be positively remiss to leave out this downtown Mobile lunch staple. The team there specializes in Southern comfort food, whipping up creations from fried pork chops to shrimp and grits with collard greens.

Taco Mama is an Alabama-based taco chain serving specialty tacos (my fave is The Sizzler!) and at least 15 margarita flavors. They have locations in Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, too.

Auburn: Mama Mocha’s

Mama Mocha’s is a local coffee roastery in Opelika. They sell whole-bean coffee, pre-made lattes + have an espresso bar with fluctuating hours. I’d recommend buying some coffee for mom, it already has her name all over it!

Mom’s at Seven Points is an adorable collecton of new and curated vintage goods. You’ll find adorable trinkets, kitchen gadgets and old-fashioned sodas.

Birmingham has a whopping three options, surpasses 10 choices if you include every Taco Mama location in the Ham. So, we’ll just list all your options, their hours + let you take it from there.
