National publications love Fairhope’s Sunset Pointe—and you will, too

Who knew Flavortown was in Alabama?
At least, according to Guy Fieri, it is.
The longtime host of Diners, Drive-ins’, and Dives has made more than one stop in Alabama during his 1,000+ episodes, which puts a national spotlight on mom-and-pop joints.
In honor of the show’s 40th season, foodie news site Mashed ranked the top restaurant from each state and Fairhope’s Sunset Pointe took the (crab) cake.

When the Sunset Pointe was featured on season 27 of Triple D, it quickly made its way into the hearts—and stomachs—of viewers everywhere, including at Mashed.

Guy tried the Eastern Shore Bouillabaisse—with a white wine seafood broth, gulf-caught seafood, leeks, fennel, and crunchy bread—yum! The grouper throats, bathed in garlicky butter, were also featured on the show.

The Panini Pete’s empire
Sunset Pointe isn’t the only one of Chef Pete’s restaurants featured on the Food Network. His well-renowned Panini Pete’s has been a staple in Fairhope for almost 20 years—it was also featured on an episode of Triple D. Chef also operates Squid Ink Eclectic Eats in downtown Mobile and Ed’s Seafood Shed in Spanish Fort.
Pete is no stranger to Food Network appearances, he’s been featured on shows like Guy’s Grocery Games and The Great Food Truck Race with Tyler Florence.
