NEW: Award-winning downtown Mobile restaurant expanding brand statewide

It’s been a great month for Dumbwaiter restaurant in Mobile. Just last week, they earned a top culinary honor from DiRoNA – and today, they’ve reached out to us to announce they’re growing their brand statewide with the addition of Dumbwaiter franchises. Dumbwaiter is spreading its proverbial wings – and brand – along the Gulf Coast. Owner Wes Lambert tells us after nine years serving Mobile, he’s gotten the brand to a point that expanding the brand just makes sense.

Lambert says along with the Alabama Gulf Coast, he’s looking to franchise his brand in places like: Huntsville, Birmingham, Pensacola and Destin. He plans on being very hands-on with the new locations, and hopes that staying close will allow him to do that.

Now, you won’t see 25 Dumbwaiter locations by this time next year—more like 2 or 5. Lambert says growing the brand correctly and ensuring the success of his franchises is at the top of his priorities list. To do that, he’s growing the brand slowly, prioritizing consistency in branding over number of locations open.
