New bar opening soon in downtown Mobile—Bar IX
The former Saddle Up Saloon in Downtown Mobile has undergone a big transformation, and is opening soon under new managemet. The new name? Bar IX. Here’s what you need to know.
About Bar IX in Downtown Mobile
As reported by WKRG, owners of the former Saddle Up Saloon Greg and Janice Loughlin, along with head bartender and manager Sarah Brooks, are transforming the popular space.
After Greg’s cohort and best friend Tommy Chayne passed, Saddle Up Saloon on Jackson Street just wasn’t the same and shut down. After Loughlin and Brooks looked for a new location to open a bar, they ended up back where they started on Jackson Street.
They decided to revitalize the space with a new brand, naming it Bar IX after the address—9 North Jackson Street. According to WKRG, Bar IX will be owned by Brooks.
