NEW: French Creole restaurant + tearoom coming to Fairhope—3 things to know
Reading time: 2 minutes
A new restaurant is coming to downtown Fairhope. Owners made the announcement just yesterday and while we don’t know a lot—we do know the name and concept, where it will be and who’s at the helm.
1. Name + concept
The new restaurant is called Café Viola and its Facebook page describes it as a “French Creole restaurant and tearoom.” I hope to find some yummy French pastries + Creole-seasoned seafood options. Oh and brunch! This seems like the perfect spot for brunch.
2. Location, location, location
Café Viola is set to take over the Ferus by the Bay storefront on Church Street in Fairhope. This will situate it in the middle of the walkable section of downtown Fairhope.
Sunday, April 14, is the last day Ferus by the Bay will be open. If this is one of your Fairhope favorites, drop by one last time before the weekend ends.
3. Who’s running the show
The Facebook post also told us who will be in charge of the new place:
- Owner Joe Rider
- Executive Chef Daniel Riley
- Owner and Executive Pastry Chef Maddie Rees
- General Manager Dillon Rees
A pastry chef on the list really cements my hope for croissants and eclairs.
