NEW: Golden buzzer winning teen voted off America’s Got Talent
Reid Wilson, the 14-year-old Montgomery native who wowed judges on America’s Got Talent ended his run in the semifinals hosted on September 12.
The soulful singer won a coveted Golden Buzzer with his gripping rendition of “You Don’t Own Me” but failed to advance past the semi-finals and into the Top 10.
Narrowly missing the top 10
Aside from the Golden Buzzers, which gives judges the right to pass on an act to the next round, who moves on in AGT is determined by fans.
After a Wednesday show that reminds fans of the star’s talent, results are presented in a nailbiting live show on Thursday evenings.
It was during this live show that the teen learned he would not progress past the semi-final round.
The last song Reid sung on AGT was a cover of Whitney Houston’s “I wanna dance with somebody”, which you can watch below:
Reid was one of six acts eliminated before the final round. The top ten will take the main stage to show off their talents on September 17—with a results show on the 24th.
As for Reid’s next steps, we’re just happy to see him get his well-deserved flowers and national recognition. We can’t wait to see what he does next. You can catch up on Golden Buzzer-winning performance and an exclusive interview with him here.
