New hotel in Cullman among latest high-dollar building permits

The majority of the new building permits issued this past week for million-dollar-plus construction projects in the state are for projects in Cullman, with one of those five permits being a new $8.1 million hotel.

Here’s what we know:

Towneplace by Marriott coming to Cullman

Baron Hospitality, based in Birmingham, is building the new Towneplace by Marriott in Cullman. This new hotel will have 90 rooms, and is expected to be completed by May of 2026.

Lloyd’s Construction and Consulting is the lead contractor on this project, which will end up with a total cost of $14 million.
