Good news, Selma! Thanks to a half-million-dollar grant, the city is creating a new Innovative Tourism Hub. Keep reading for all the details.

What’s included in Selma’s new Innovative Tourism Hub

According to Black Belt News Network, the $500K grant was from the Delta Regional Authority, and it will go toward creating a new transportation hub serving tourists and visitors to the Civil Rights Visitor’s Center.

Here’s what’s included in the project:

  • Renovations to the Historic Western Railway Building
  • New electronic open-air trolley
  • New pedal bus
  • New pedal taxi
  • Staffing + advertising

Located near the historic, newly-reopened St. James Hotel and the amphitheater, the Innovative Tourism Hub will be an important part of Selma’s tourism industry.
